Alex Dean, CEO and President
A native of Massachusetts, Alex graduated from Boston University with a B.A., in interdisciplinary studies, a self-designed curriculum in architecture, solar energy, business, and environmental law and business management. In the 1980s, Alex worked as an associate for a professional mechanical engineer in Maryland, analyzing HVAC and special mechanical systems, and conducted energy analysis for The National Zoo, private office buildings and military intelligence facilities worldwide.
The creation of his own renovation and remodeling business led to the incorporation of The Alexander Group in 1986. He quickly discovered the value of the design-build process, which provides clients with a quality product, an intelligent and efficient process and excellent customer service. Alex is an enthusiastic and active member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). He was president of the DC Metropolitan Chapter of NARI in 1992, and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the DC Metropolitan Chapter of NARI from 1990 to 1994.
Since 1976, Alex has been a proponent of energy conservation, solar and alternative energy resources, and is excited about the new awareness and interest in "green building." Alex’s personal pursuits include family time with his wife and son, golf, fishing, cycling, traveling and reading.
Brian Stone, Design Consultant
Brian Stone has been with The Alexander Group since 2003. He is a resourceful, creative and versatile member of The Alexander Group Team whose responsibilities include designing projects, budgeting, specification writing, agreement writing, permit plan development, project managment and business development.
Brian holds a degree in architecture from the University of Maryland and has more than twenty three years experience in business management and operations in the construction and food service industries.
Brian places a strong emphasis on customer service and has won numerous awards for service throughout his career. Brian’s professionalism, dedication to customer service and creativity produces a great experience and award winning projects for our clients. Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, Tiffany, and sons, Dillon and Braedon. His hobbies include camping, boating, going to the beach, electronics, gardening and building with his sons.
Steve Mayberry, Construction Manager
Steve has over twenty three years of experience in construction with twenty years as a lead carpenter and three years as a construction manager. He holds an associate’s degree in building construction technology from Johnson School of Technology and has extensive knowledge in residential remodeling.
Steve's professionalism and high standard of excellence exceeds client's expectations by providing a positive remodeling experience.
